After an epic Visiting Day on Saturday, Sunday brought us back to regular programming—but we didn’t miss a beat! A group of our boys headed to Camp Winadu for a USTA tennis tournament, while the Rangers hit the road for their summer trip to Dunkin’ Stadium to watch the Hartford Yard Goats take on the Somerset Patriots. It was a huge hit with everyone!
Later that evening, the energy kept going with Auction Night. Each bunk was handed $100,000 in Watitoh Money and had the chance to bid on some incredible prizes. Hosted by Lindsay Bell and Sam Keeping, the auction featured wild bidding for items like renaming a camp location, an extra canteen, a rest hour playdate with Becket, an overnight in the Cooking Cottage, and so much more.

Monday brought one of Boys Camp’s most beloved traditions—Pan Am Day! Three countries competed in an action-packed day of sports, relay races, and camp spirit. Chile, led by Cooper, Brazil, led by Noah, and Argentina, led by Ari, all gave it their all. After an intense day on and off the field, Chile took the win! Meanwhile, Girls Camp was just as competitive with the Sports-a-Rama swim meet, a Pickleball tournament, and a flag design competition. Congratulations to our champions: Rachel Barr and Ari Ende for Upper Camp, and Sadie Yagoda and Kira Lappen for Lower Camp. The day ended with our lively Square Dance featuring Cliff and the Square 1 Band. From learning to do-si-do to group promenades and singing along to the YMCA, the fun and energy on Boys Court were unforgettable.
On Tuesday, the fun rolled on with one of camp’s all-time favorites—Las Vegas Night and Dancing with the Staff. The Social Hall turned into a full-blown casino featuring poker, blackjack, roulette, candy-grams, a marriage booth, and so much more. After everyone gambled away their Watitoh dollars, the spotlight turned to the stage for Dancing with the Staff. Six camper-staff pairs lit up the room with unique and fun performances: Mia and Jared, Victoria and Noah, Rebecca and Sam, Big Little Fish and Maya, Joe and Mushu, and Seb and Ginger. Congratulations to Seb and Ginger, who danced their way to victory with “I Love You, I’m Sorry” by Gracie Abrams.
Wednesday was a bittersweet one as we said goodbye to our incredible four-week campers. We’ll miss you and can’t wait to see you again next summer. After farewells, we jumped right into one of Camp Watitoh’s most exciting traditions—The Townsend Cup: Bezzer Wezzer edition. The third and final round brought unmatched energy and cheers. Boys and Girls Camp battled it out, but Girls Camp clinched the win on the final question. The trophy stays with the girls for another year, but 2026 might just be the boys’ year.
Thursday started with a surprise late wake-up—a well-deserved rest after the previous night’s excitement. That evening, we split for separates. Boys Camp hosted Superstar Night, where bunks bet on their counselors completing wild challenges. The bunk of Apache took the crown. Meanwhile, Girls Camp dressed in all black for the annual game of Hunt the Counselor. Huge congratulations to Gabby Berk for coming out on top.

Friday was back to our regular schedule filled with favorite camp activities—pickleball, the waterfront, cooking, archery, adventure, and more. The day ended with our meaningful Friday Night Campfire and Service, where campers enjoyed performances by the Cadets, A’Shane and Immy, Kalib, Patrick, and the TICs and Waiters. As always, Britton and Drew wrapped up the evening with a bedtime story around the fire, and of course, no campfire would be complete without s’mores.
Saturday was packed with surprises. The entire camp gathered at the waterfront for a Luau-themed day filled with swimming, games, and great vibes. The highlight? A surprise visit from an ice cream truck! The excitement continued that night with the annual Watitoh Derby. Campers and staff transformed into horses and raced around the hockey rink while the rest of camp placed bets and cheered them on. It was a hilarious and high-energy end to an incredible week.
Looking ahead, we’ve got a full slate of fan-favorite events coming your way: Costume Social, Carnival, MTV Night, Hunt the Waiter, Camper Trips, Gardens, the Senior Camp Play—and who knows—maybe even Color War will break?!
1, 2, 3, 4… We want Color War! EGAD, we want Olympiad!
