Week 2+ of Summer 2025 is in the books!!!! And it’s been an amazing week!
Saturday was our Camper Talent Show where many of our campers displayed lots of different talents including dancing, hula hooping, singing, hockey moves, and rubix-cube solving!
Sunday was our typical Sports-a-Rama night with Hobby Selection after. AND…A surprise trip for our TICS and Waiters to go to Walmart! They had a blast!
Monday was a late sleep and a Special Event Day. Due to potential bad weather (which never came to fruition!), we postponed the Carnival to later in July and pivoted to some other fun activities! The girls had a crib swim and a scavenger hunt followed by writing letters for SCOPE, a program that raises money to send underprivileged kids to camp. The boys had Capture the Flag in the morning and a big brother/little brother afternoon with activity rotations followed by a Coed General Swim to end the day.

Tuesday night was the annual Birthday Banquet! A much-anticipated tradition, it is the night we celebrate the birthday of Camp Watitoh AND all of the campers and staff who do not have summer birthdays. We get slightly more dressed up, have a banquet style meal, and invite campers and staff to help us light the candles while we all sing “Happy Birthday to us!” Tom Carroll, a Watitoh legend, performed his famous songs along with his great covers. We danced and sang the night away!
Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday Rainbow Day on Girls Camp! Each bunk was assigned a color and together, they made the rainbow! A huge group of our girls boarded buses for the famous Romaca Swim meet where we placed THIRD overall! Wednesday night was Gladiators for the girls. Campers vs. counselors in all sorts of silly games: Sumo wrestling, slip-n-slide tug-of-war, earth ball, musical chairs and more. The boys played HUNT THE COUNSELOR, a scavenger hunt searching for the counselors wearing hats with different value points. Marinus, our UPS General Counselor, won the game!

Thursday was the much awaited performance of Sponge Bob, the Musical. And it was AMAZING!! The cast and crew put on an incredible sho
w. And, it was beyond creative. Hallie, our Drama Director, had a vision of producing a show “in the round” setting up the Social Hall so that the actors could use the stage and the middle of the Social Hall. The campers were so talented and inspired all of us with their bravery to perform in front of all of camp! We loved being transported to Bikini Bottom!!
Friday night we had our weekly campfire. The “Watitoh 5” made a repeat performance from Opening Campfire, our TICS and Waiters performed old SING songs, and we were amused with some dance offs and had fun with our favorite campfire songs. We ended the night reading our bedtime story, “Spoon” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. Annnndddd….we surprised our Upper Senior Boys and Girls with an outing to Walmart! They loved the surprise!
Today was Dream Day where we welcomed prospective campers to Watitoh for the day! The rest of the week is pretty awesome…Tonight is a chill movie night after a hot day in the 01223! Tomorrow we’re back to Sports-a-Rama and Monday is British Empire Day for the Girls! This week we’re going to be busy learning SING songs for our most traditional evening activity on Friday night, playing the next round of the Townsend Cup: Cabin Feud, dancing and singing our lungs out at Silent Disco, welcoming all of you to camp on Saturday for Visiting Day!
We hope you are enjoying all the amazing photos and news from camp!
