We are fortunate to have a leadership team that has dedicated their summer to making this summer our best one yet! The team is made up of the Directors, Head Counselors, Program, Athletic, Waterfront and Administrative Directors. This week we will be profiling our Boys and Girls Counselors, Chrissy and Max. Together they have over 40 years of combined camping experience and knowledge!
Girls Head Counselor: Chrissy Spark, in her 17th summer at camp and 15th as Girls Head Counselor, joins us from the UK. Chrissy spends the Fall in her hometown of Bournemouth, Dorset working at a Yacht Club and the Winter in the French Alps running ski chalets. As the most veteran Watihoan on our team, we all have a lot to learn from Chrissy about her operations running girls camp, her organization, and her wealth of knowledge of all things Watitoh!
Boys Head Counselor: Max Grossman, our Staffing Director in the winter is our Boys Head Counselor for the first time this year. Before working at Watitoh, Max worked full-time for a day camp on Long Island in an operations role. He spent many summers as a day camp counselor, being recognized many times as the “Counselor of the Year.” Max spent one summer at Lake Bryn Mawr Camp, an all-girls sleep-away camp in Pennsylvania. We love Max’s spirit and enthusiasm for everything that he does. He works year round for Watitoh as our Staffing Director.
